S76 Handbook Floor Loading Considerations

Reminder - From the TOW CG RQG you should remember there is the occasionally used compartment created by removing all of the passenger seats and loading onto the 'Floor'/'Cabin Floor' between the tie down rings

Just like in CG questions, when checking floor loading weight limits the 'Floor'/'Cabin Floor'area is treated exactly the same as any other loading position, but the relevant data is a little harder to find. It appears on the top left corner of Page 50 of the S76 Handbook and you will need to do some basic conversions

Remember - You will find this information here

So if you are asked to simply load the 'Floor'/'Cabin Floor' or load 'Between Tie Down Rings' -

The maximum weight is 1300 lb / 2.205 = 589.6 kg
(589 kg rounded down to not exceed limit)

The standard floor loading pressure limit of 366 kg/square metre still applies (75 lb/square foot = 366 kg/square metre)

The arm for 'Floor'/'Cabin Floor' loading is 150.25 inches x 25.4 mm/inch = 3816 mm

It's not harder at all. Just the extra step of finding and converting the data

You may also be given the area of the container side instead of the dimensions or you can be given the dimensions in mm or cm instead of mt, so this RQG covers all of those options

There is also a mix of loading positions so every loading situation is covered sometime as you work throught the various questions

As with other RQG's, when you are creating RQG questions and there is a specific type of loading or dimension combination you wish to practice, you can simply hit the 'Refesh' button on your web browser and keep refreshing until you are presented with the loading scenerio you want to practice. Being a totally random mix you may need to refresh a few times to see a specific type of loading
